Post-Corner Combo: a 5v5 flag football play
From the same side, the slot runs a post (toward the middle) and the outside receiver runs a corner (toward the sideline). Both break at the same depth, going opposite ways. The deep defender has to commit to one, and the QB throws the other.

How Post-Corner Combo works
- Y pushes 6 yards and angles toward the middle on a post.
- Z pushes 6 yards and breaks at 45 degrees to the corner.
- X runs a backside hitch as the quick outlet.
- C releases and sits 4 yards off the line.
The quarterback's read
- Watch the deep defender on the combo side.
- They turn toward the post: throw the corner.
- They widen with the corner: throw the post.
- Heavy rush: take the hitch.
Coaching points
- Both receivers must sell vertical before breaking so the safety can't guess early.
- The corner is thrown to the sideline, away from the defender.
- Keep the post on its line; drifting into the corner route's space ruins the spacing.
When to call it
When the defense has one deep defender, and on first down after a couple of short completions.
For youth teams
10 and up. Teach it as 'one in, one out.'
