Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 4, 2026
1. Introduction
ReadyRef ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application ("App").
By using ReadyRef, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
- Account Information: When you sign in with Google (required to use the app), we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account.
- Profile and Team Data: Information you enter in the app, such as your display name, city, province, team names, player names, and jersey numbers.
- Player Statistics: In-game stats recorded during league play (e.g., touchdowns, yards, sacks, interceptions, flag pulls) associated with player names you enter.
- Device Tokens: If you enable push notifications, a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device token is stored on our servers to deliver game alerts.
- Non-Personal Information: Such as device type, operating system, and app usage statistics, to improve app performance.
- Gameplay and Analytics Data: Used to track in-app performance, leaderboards, or usage trends via analytics tools. Your Firebase user ID is associated with analytics events.
3. League Registration Information
When you register a participant for a league, camp, clinic, or tournament through ReadyRef, the organizer of that program asks you for the information they need to run it safely.
What is collected
- Participant details: name, date of birth, and where the organizer asks for them, school and grade, and shirt size.
- Health information: allergies, medical conditions, and medications, where the organizer asks for them, so that their staff can respond to an emergency.
- Contacts: the registering parent or guardian’s name, email, and phone, and an emergency contact’s name, phone, and relationship to the participant.
- Waiver record: the name typed as a signature, the date and time it was submitted, and which version of the organizer’s waiver text was agreed to.
- Payment record: the amount, currency, date, and status. Card numbers are never sent to or stored by ReadyRef — Stripe handles them directly.
Who it is for, and who can see it
- Registration information is collected for the organizer, who decides what to ask for and what to do with it. ReadyRef stores and protects it on their behalf.
- Within ReadyRef, registration records are visible only to the owner of that league. Coaches, referees, other parents, and other leagues cannot see them. They never appear on a public league page, a schedule, a scoreboard, or a recap.
- ReadyRef staff access registration records only where necessary to operate or support the Service, or where required by law.
- We do not sell registration information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Children
Registration information is usually about a child and is provided by their parent or guardian, not by the child. Do not enter more health detail than the organizer needs to keep the participant safe. If you believe a child’s information has been entered by someone without the right to provide it, contact us and we will remove it.
Keeping and deleting it
- Registration records are kept while the program runs and afterwards for as long as the organizer needs them for their records, and as long as we are required to keep payment records.
- To see, correct, or delete a registration, contact the organizer who collected it. You may also contact us and we will help.
- Deleting a league deletes its registration records.
4. How We Use Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide and improve app functionality.
- Personalize your experience.
- Communicate updates, features, or support messages.
- Maintain security and prevent misuse.
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Data Storage and Retention
Your information is stored securely on servers compliant with modern security standards. We retain data only as long as necessary to provide our services or comply with legal obligations.
6. Third-Party Services
The app uses third-party services that collect information according to their own policies:
- Google Play Services
- Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database, Firestore, Storage, Analytics, Cloud Messaging)
- AdMob (ads on free tier)
- RevenueCat (in-app purchases and subscription management)
- Stripe (league registration payments; card details go to Stripe, never to us)
7. Permissions
ReadyRef may request permissions such as:
- Storage/Photos: To upload team logos.
- Notifications: To send push alerts for live game events (scoring, turnovers, timeouts). Available on paid plans only.
- Internet Access: To sync data and connect to online features.
You can manage permissions at any time in your device settings.
8. Children's Privacy
ReadyRef is not directed to children, and children do not create accounts or use the app themselves. An account holder must be at least 13.
Adults do enter information about children: a coach adds a player’s name and jersey number to a roster, and a parent or guardian completes a registration (see section 3, which includes dates of birth and, where an organizer asks for it, health information). Whoever enters that information is responsible for having the authority to provide it.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child directly. If a child’s information has been entered by someone without the right to provide it, or you want a child’s information removed, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your Rights
You may:
- Request access or deletion of your data — see our Data Deletion page for how.
- Withdraw consent for data collection.
- Disable analytics or advertising features in your device settings.
