Refund & Cancellation Policy

Effective Date: September 4, 2026

1. Overview

ReadyRef offers a free tier and paid subscriptions (Plus and League). Paid subscriptions are purchased and billed through the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store and managed using RevenueCat. Because the app stores process the payment, cancellations and refunds are handled through your store account and are subject to that store's policies. This page explains how it works.

Registration fees are a different product. Money you pay a league, camp, clinic, or tournament through ReadyRef does not go through an app store and is not refunded by one. See section 5 below.

2. Billing and Auto-Renewal

  • Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis, depending on the plan you choose.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  • Your store account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Prices are shown in USD; local pricing and applicable taxes may vary by region and are set by the app store.

3. How to Cancel

You can cancel anytime. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep paid features until the end of the period you already paid for.

Google Play (Android)

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
  3. Select ReadyRef, then tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.

Apple App Store (iOS)

  1. Open Settings and tap your name → Subscriptions.
  2. Select ReadyRef.
  3. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.

4. Subscription Refunds

  • Refunds for app-store purchases are issued by the app store, not directly by ReadyRef, in accordance with their policies. For a subscription we have no ability to charge or refund your payment method directly.
  • Google Play: request a refund at play.google.com/store/account or Google Play refund support.
  • Apple App Store: request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Statutory rights you may have under consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction (including in Ontario, Canada) are not affected by this policy.
  • If you believe you were charged in error or have a billing concern, email us at support@readyref.app and we will help where we can — including, where appropriate, supporting your refund request with the relevant store.

5. League Registration Refunds

This section applies to registration fees paid to a league, camp, clinic, or tournament through ReadyRef. It does not apply to ReadyRef subscriptions, which are covered above — the two are separate products with separate sellers.

  • The organizer decides. The organization running the program sets its own refund terms and issues the refund itself, from its own Stripe account, using the organizer tools in ReadyRef. ReadyRef never holds the funds and does not issue refunds on an organizer's behalf.
  • Ask the organizer first. Refund requests, cancellations, and transfers go to the league that ran the registration. Their refund terms should be shown on their registration page; if they are not, ask before you pay.
  • Our service fee. Where a registration is refunded in full on or before the registration deadline shown on that program's registration page, ReadyRef's service fee is refunded with it. Where a registration is refunded after that deadline, or is refunded only in part, the service fee is retained.
  • Payment processing fees. Stripe does not return its processing fee on a refund. That cost falls on the organizer, not on you and not on ReadyRef.
  • Payments made outside ReadyRef. Where you paid an organizer by cash, e-transfer, or cheque, ReadyRef holds only the organizer's record that payment was received. Any refund is arranged entirely between you and the organizer.
  • If a program is cancelled. The organizer is responsible for refunding registrations for a program they cancel. If an organizer is unresponsive, contact your card issuer about a chargeback — and tell us, because we may suspend their ability to collect further payments.
  • Statutory rights you may have under consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction (including in Ontario, Canada) are not affected by this policy.

6. Free Trials and Promotions

If a free trial or promotional offer is available, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel beforehand. To avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends using the steps above.

7. Changing or Downgrading Your Plan

  • You can upgrade, downgrade, or switch between monthly and annual billing through your app store. Timing and proration of plan changes are handled by the app store.
  • When a paid subscription ends or is downgraded, paid features become unavailable and plan limits (such as the number of leagues, teams, and watched games) return to the free tier. Your data is retained according to our Privacy Policy; you can request deletion at any time via our Data Deletion page.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time. We will update the "Effective Date" above and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice in the app or on our website.
